Ba-bye Calgary, Hello Palm Springs

We woke up Sunday morning in Calgary to this, and I was so happy to be flying off to somewhere warm. We are so lucky!!!!
The only bad thing about the snow for us, was that we had to wait and extra half hour for our plane to be de-iced. But then we were on our way. I wasn't really interested in any of the movie choices, as we had just flown a week ago and I had watched what I wanted to watch. So I played Zelda (which is really fun) on my DS and listened to my Ipod for the most of the flight. I did watch an episode of 30 Rock, which was really quite funny. I had never watched it before, but now I think I will start. The actual flight was about 3 hours. As we were coming out of our gate, we had our first celebrity siting: Leann Rimes. She was kind of hiding in the corner in her sweats, but it was her.
We got our luggage quite quickly and caught the shuttle to Budget. I was really glad that we are Fastbreak members, because we didn't have to wait in the super long line. We went into this little station, read the screen and picked our car.
We chose the Jeep Patriot, because we like the SUV. But it is nowhere near as nice as a Toyota.
We were starving so we decided to hit the Burger King right beside Budget before getting on the highway. It was pretty shady, but the food was fresh for a change. There were some weird freakin' people inside, so we ate quickly and decided to skip the bathroom. We found our way to the main highway and we were off to Palm Springs. It was kind of a bummer that it gets dark so quickly now. Most of our drive was in the dark so we didn't get to see much. But as soon as we drove into Palm Springs, right on the main drag, I knew that I loved it. It seems likes such a great little town. The weather was perfect.
We found our hotel, the Hilton Palm Springs, with no trouble at all. It was just off the main drag. What a cute little place, and not busy at all. This could have to do with the time of year, but more than likely it's because of the flailing economy.
Our room is on the ground floor, and right outside the patio doors is a huge courtyard with the pool and hot tubs.

The typical Hilton hairdryer, the same one we saw in London.

This is the cheapest mini-bar that John and I have ever seen. Lots of yummy drinks and snacks!!

My neck was still pretty sore, so we decided to hit the hot tub right away, which was the best thing I did all night. My neck felt so much better. It was only about 7, so we decided to go walk down the main street, Palm Canyon Drive, and find a restaurant......
