Las Vegas Day 5

Can that be right, have we really been in Vegas for 5 days. Let's see, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, yup 5 days!! Today is election day!! I even dreamt about Barrack Obama. And I was wrong, the Signature has the best beds ever. Even more luxurious and comfy than the Wynn. The pillows were just right, I didn't get a crick in my neck or anything. I wish we could take the linens, the comforter and the pillows home. I just melted into it, it was like the bed and I became one. Ahhhhhh. Okay, enough drooling over the bed.

We woke up bright and early this morning, because John had to go to the SEMA show. Another great thing about this place, the great smelling shampoo and the gorgeous grapefruit shower gel. YUM! So once we were all ready, we headed down to Delight - the Signature's only deli/restaurant. They served us an amazing breakfast. John had sausage and eggs and toast, while I had the All-American breakfast, which is the same thing, only pancakes instead of toast. The pancakes were little and they melted in my mouth, just the perfect amount with my eggs. And the breakfast potatoes were amazing. The were in a round shape surrounded by onions. So tasty. We will definitely have breakfast there again! (Delight $$)

After breakfast, we parted ways. John headed for the SEMA show, and I headed back up to the room. I am still feeling a little under the weather, so I thought it would do me some good to rest a little more. So nice not to worry about anyone but myself, and knowing someone else will clean up! So I worked on a couple things I needed to get done, then I surfed the net for awhile. I was feeling a bit better so I decided to walk down to Walgreens. There's a Walgreens on the strip just past the M&M and Coke store next to the MGM. So I went. It seemed to take me longer to get through the casino, than it did to walk to Walgreens. This place is massive!! Walking down the strip I saw a few really drunk and dirty people muttering to themselves, and one sleeping on the sidewalk. And I was reminded of the one big annoyance of walking on the strip, those people handing out the little cards for escorts and strippers. So annoying, at least they can't yell out to you. Oh well it's culture, right?

I like checking out Drugstores in different cities. It's always been one of those things I had to do everywhere we went. I think I got it from my mom. Anyways, I had to pick up some Tylenol PM for Anne, because ever since her knee surgery the regular stuff just doesn't cut it at night. So I snooped around looking at makeup, cheap souvenirs, and dental products you can't find here, and I then I picked up the pain killers, and some cough syrup for me and headed back home. The walk seemed shorter on the way home, it always does.

I made a pit stop at Delight again for a fruit cup, a tea, and an apple turnover. John took the camera so I had to take bad cellphone camera pictures, and unfortunately I can't upload them. My phone is having issues. C'est la vie!

Once John got back from SEMA, we were both hungry again, so we decided on the Studio Cafe in the MGM. It was good, nothing special, just your average hotel coffee shop. John ordered the chicken noodle soup, which I didn't take a picture of, and then he had the fish and chips. He said they were OK, but that he'd had better. I had the burger and it was really quite tasty. (MGM Studio Cafe $$)

John played a few more hands of blackjack on the way back to signature, and turned his $100 in $250, so that was good. And it's always more fun when you are winning. We decided to take it easy and go back to the room and watch the Election results. Usually I am bored by this, but for whatever reason I found it really interesting tonight. Isn't it bad that I am more interested in US politics than I am Canadian. I probably know more American politicians, than I know Canadian ones too. Oh well it does affect us. I thought John McCain's speech was really gracious and supportive of Barrack. I am so happy that they elected Obama, I think it means great things for the United States, and I also think it says a lot about Americans, and how they have realized their mistake and the need for change.

During all the election holla-baloo, we ordered room service, I wasn't really that hungry so I got the spinach artichoke dip, which wasn't really that good, I expected it to come with chips but instead it came with these huge open taco things. Oh well, the chocolate milkshake I ordered with it more than made up for it, but now I am soooo full. I really shouldn't have had anything. John had the french dip which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Before bed I took a nice bath in the Jacuzzi tub and got lost again in Breaking Dawn. I am so sorry that this is the last book in the series. I have been so obsessed, what will I do when it's over?!?
