There are a ton of cool little shops on Palm Canyon Drive. Lots of cute little boutiques and restaurants. I noticed a lot of frozen yogurt shops, which is different from at home. John and I just enjoyed walking down the street. Some of the stores were closed cause it was Sunday. We went into this huge Import store, that was filled with furniture, fake flowers, cards, clothing, kitchen stuff, really a little bit of everything. Including fake purses!! Look at the middle patchwork one, it is exactly like my
Coach one, only Gs instead of Cs, and I don't think it was real leather, but if you were just carrying it, it would take a lot to notice it was fake. I couldn't believe it! What a weird place to be selling purses.

We started to get a little hungry, so we stopped off at
Ruby's Diner. We have eaten there once before at the Las Vegas airport. It's a cute 50's diner with great burgers. We didn't really feel like burgers, because we had eaten Burger King earlier, so we both decided to order the grilled cheese. John had fries, and I had onion rings. This is the model train circling around the restaurant, John's comment was: "we should get one of those for home!" Sarcasm is our best friend!

The onion rings were really good. The grilled cheese was okay. They make it on this "egg bread", which is really yellow. It was a little too thick for our liking, but the cheeses (swiss, cheddar, and american) were really good!

I love it when I catch John smiling in pictures!! Usually he looks so crusty in photos.

All in all, Ruby's Diner was pretty good, although we probably would have been happier with burgers. Our meal, the two grilled cheese and cokes, was about $25 plus tip, which we thought was pretty reasonable.
After dinner, we slowly made our way back to the hotel. We stopped at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which is my favorite, but it was closed. I just wanted a tea, and lucky for me there was a Starbucks open right across the street. It was about 9:05pm and it was apparently closing at midnight, but the staff was totally frazzled. They must have just had a major rush, although it didn't appear to be that busy. It took the lady forever to take the man in front of me's order and then he complained because there were no stir sticks. Finally it was my turn, and I ordered my favorite, Grande
Refresh (which is just a fancy name for peppermint) Tea with two tea bags (I like it a little stronger and two tea bags does the trick) and honey (mmmm....honey!). Well first she was out of Grande cups, not to worry I'll take a tall or a venti, she chooses to give me a venti. No worries! Then only one Refresh tea bag left, sure, I don't
really need two tea bags, I am fine with just one. It takes her about 5 minutes to put all this together, and then she forgets my honey, I remind her and she gives me some. Maybe you had to be there, but I had a really hard time maintaining my patience, I think it was her attitude more than anything. But then I get to the counter to add my honey, and she only filled the cup halfway up with hot water. It's water!! But oh well, needless to say I got my tea, so I was generally happy.
We got back to our room, watched some tv and hit the hay!
